Daejoo Electronic Materials, the only domestic producer of silicon anode materials generating revenue, is expected to benefit significantly from Tesla this year.

 

According to industry sources on the 20th, Tesla's new Model Y Juniper is expected to feature batteries utilizing silicon anode materials from Daejoo Electronic Materials.

 

Tesla plans to begin selling the Model Y Juniper in China starting this March. Consequently, Daejoo Electronic Materials is projected to see a notable boost in sales beginning in the second quarter.

 

Tesla intends to use its upgraded 2170 battery, which features higher nickel content and an increased proportion of silicon anode materials, in the new model. Additionally, Tesla is reportedly preparing to apply high-efficiency silicon anode materials to its next-generation 4680 cylindrical batteries.

 

Daejoo Electronic Materials’ anode materials are also likely to be used in batteries for Hyundai’s Ioniq 3 and Ioniq 9, as well as Stellantis' new electric vehicles. With the rising sales of electric vehicles, expectations for Daejoo Electronic Materials’ improved performance are growing across the industry.
