Samsung E&A announced on the 3rd that it has won a 2.478 trillion KRW ($1.76 billion) contract to construct a methanol plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The contract includes the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a plant capable of producing 5,000 tons of methanol per day in the TA'ZIZ industrial complex within the Ruwais Industrial Zone. The project was awarded by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the UAE's state-owned oil company.
The construction is scheduled to be completed within 44 months.
The signing ceremony, held on the 3rd in Abu Dhabi, UAE, was attended by Hong Nam-goong, President of Samsung E&A, and Marshal Al Kindi, President of TA'ZIZ, among others.
Samsung E&A stated that it aims to successfully complete the project by leveraging its experience in executing a methanol project in Malaysia and its expertise from managing eight other projects in the Ruwais Industrial Zone.
